Core Google Cloud Services We Can Help You Deploy

The service mix should be selected for the application rather than treating every workload as a generic virtual server.

Compute Engine

Deploy Linux or Windows virtual machines using predefined or custom machine types for websites, applications, databases and business systems.

  • VM sizing and deployment
  • Persistent storage design
  • Instance templates and scaling
  • Migration from VPS / physical servers

Cloud Storage

Object storage for application data, archives, static assets, backup workflows and unstructured data.

  • Bucket architecture
  • Storage-class selection
  • Lifecycle planning
  • Application integration

VPC & Networking

Design logically isolated Google Cloud networking for VMs, Kubernetes, serverless services and hybrid connectivity.

  • VPC and subnet design
  • Firewall policy planning
  • Cloud VPN / connectivity
  • Load balancing and DNS

Cloud SQL

Managed relational databases for supported MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server workloads.

  • Database sizing
  • Migration planning
  • Availability architecture
  • Backup and maintenance strategy

Google Kubernetes Engine

Deploy and operate containerized applications using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), including Standard or Autopilot architectures where appropriate.

  • Cluster architecture
  • Container migration
  • Networking and ingress
  • Scaling and operations

Data, AI & Modern Apps

Extend infrastructure with Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Vertex AI, Cloud Run and other managed services when they fit the application.

  • Cloud-native application design
  • Analytics architecture
  • AI / ML infrastructure planning
  • Serverless workload options
Google Cloud Migration

Assess First, Then Choose the Migration Path

A migration can be a straightforward rehost, a move to managed services, or a larger application modernization project.

1. AssessInventory servers, applications, databases, dependencies, storage, traffic and operational requirements.
2. PlanChoose target services, regions, networking, IAM, backup, availability and migration sequence.
3. MigrateMove VMs, databases, applications and data using the appropriate Google Cloud migration tooling and cutover plan.
4. OptimizeReview performance, reliability, security, operating cost and opportunities to adopt managed services.
Migration Center: Google Cloud provides Migration Center as a unified platform for infrastructure discovery, assessment, cost estimation and migration planning. Systron's broader migration offering also covers cloud-to-cloud, hosting and hybrid migrations.

Well-Architected Cloud

Design for More Than Deployment

Google Cloud's Well-Architected Framework organizes guidance around operational excellence, security, reliability, cost optimization, performance optimization and sustainability.

Operational Excellence
Deploy, monitor, manage and continuously improve workloads with repeatable operational processes.
Security
Plan identity, access, networking, data protection and security controls from the architecture stage.
Reliability
Design availability, redundancy, recovery and failure handling around business requirements.
Cost Optimization
Right-size resources and align cloud spending with actual business value and utilization.
Performance Optimization
Select and tune resources according to workload performance requirements.
Sustainability
Consider efficient resource use and architecture choices that reduce unnecessary consumption.
Managed Google Cloud

Support After the Initial Deployment

Cloud adoption does not end when the VM or application is created. Ongoing operations determine whether the environment remains secure, reliable and cost-effective.

Provisioning & Configuration

Set up projects, compute, storage, networking and supporting services for the agreed architecture.

Monitoring & Review

Monitor workloads and review resource utilization, availability and operational issues.

Security Operations

Support IAM, firewall, operating-system and security configuration within the agreed service scope.

OS Management

Managed operating-system administration and patching can be included for supported VM-based workloads.

Backup Integration

Build backup and recovery requirements into the environment rather than treating them as an afterthought.

Cost & Capacity Review

Review resource sizing and usage as workloads change to identify unnecessary capacity or architectural changes.

Hybrid & Multi-Cloud

Google Cloud Can Be One Part of a Larger Architecture

Google Cloud's architecture guidance explicitly supports hybrid and multi-cloud deployment patterns. That makes it possible to combine Google Cloud with on-premises systems, Systron infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, AWS or other environments when there is a sound business or technical reason.

The goal is not to use multiple clouds for its own sake. The goal is to place workloads where they fit while keeping networking, identity, operations, backup and governance manageable.

A dedicated Hybrid & Multi-Cloud page will be added to this cluster.
Google Cloud Cost Planning

Estimate Before You Deploy

Google Cloud cost depends on region, compute family, CPU and memory, storage, operating system, network traffic, managed services and usage patterns.

Systron Google Cloud Calculator — Planned

We will add a calculator under Systron Tools for estimating selected Google Cloud compute, disk and related infrastructure costs.

The result will be clearly labelled as an estimate because actual Google Cloud billing can vary with usage, discounts, commitments, network transfer, taxes and other services.

Inputs We Plan to Support

  • Region
  • Machine family / VM size
  • vCPU and RAM
  • Operating system
  • Disk type and capacity
  • Estimated monthly runtime
Google Cloud FAQ

Common Google Cloud Questions

What is Google Compute Engine?

Compute Engine is Google Cloud's infrastructure-as-a-service offering for running self-managed virtual machine instances and bare metal instances. It supports Linux and Windows workloads and integrates with other Google Cloud services.

Can Systron migrate an existing VPS or dedicated server to Google Cloud?

Yes. The migration approach depends on the operating system, application, database, storage, dependencies and acceptable downtime. A workload can be rehosted to Compute Engine or modernized onto other Google Cloud services where appropriate.

What databases does Cloud SQL support?

Google Cloud currently documents Cloud SQL as a fully managed relational database service for MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

Can Google Cloud connect to our office or data centre?

Yes. Google Cloud offers networking services for hybrid connectivity, including Cloud VPN and other connectivity options. The appropriate design depends on traffic, availability and network requirements.

What is GKE?

Google Kubernetes Engine is Google's managed implementation of Kubernetes for deploying and operating containerized applications. GKE offers Standard and Autopilot operating modes for different levels of infrastructure control.

Can Google Cloud be used in a hybrid or multi-cloud architecture?

Yes. Google Cloud publishes architecture guidance for hybrid and multi-cloud deployment patterns and for connecting Google Cloud with other cloud providers and on-premises infrastructure.

Can Systron manage Google Cloud after deployment?

Yes. The managed service scope can include provisioning, monitoring, VM operating-system management, patching, security configuration, backup integration, incident support and capacity review.

Does Google Cloud eliminate the need for backup?

No. Infrastructure availability and backup are separate design concerns. Backup and recovery requirements should be based on retention, RPO, RTO and business-continuity needs.

Planning a Google Cloud Project?

Share your current infrastructure, applications, database requirements, user locations, performance needs and migration goals. Systron can help scope an appropriate Google Cloud architecture.
