AWS Cloud Services

Build AWS Around the Application, Not Just the Server

Systron can help organizations plan AWS infrastructure around compute, storage, databases, networking, security, availability, recovery and operating-cost requirements.

Projects can range from a single EC2 workload to multi-tier applications, managed databases, Kubernetes platforms, migration projects and hybrid environments.

AWS Partner

Systron's AWS practice complements our Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, managed cloud, migration, backup and disaster-recovery services.

AWS Infrastructure

Core AWS Services We Can Help You Deploy

Choose AWS services according to workload requirements instead of treating every application as a generic virtual machine.

Deploy scalable Linux or Windows virtual servers for websites, applications, databases and other business workloads.

  • Instance-family selection
  • Linux / Windows deployment
  • Elastic Block Store integration
  • Scaling and availability design

Amazon S3 & EBS

Use object and block storage for application data, files, archives, instance disks and other cloud storage requirements.

  • Amazon S3 object storage
  • Amazon EBS block storage
  • Lifecycle and retention planning
  • Application integration

Amazon VPC & Networking

Design logically isolated AWS networking with subnets, routing, gateways, security controls and hybrid connectivity.

  • VPC and subnet architecture
  • Security groups and routing
  • Site-to-Site VPN
  • Load balancing and DNS

Amazon RDS & Aurora

Managed relational databases for supported engines, with AWS handling many routine database infrastructure tasks.

  • Amazon RDS architecture
  • Amazon Aurora
  • High-availability planning
  • Database migration

Amazon EKS

Deploy and operate Kubernetes workloads using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).

  • Cluster architecture
  • Container migration
  • Networking and ingress
  • Scaling and operations

Serverless & Modern Apps

Use services such as AWS Lambda and managed application services where event-driven or cloud-native architecture is a better fit than always-on servers.

  • Serverless architecture
  • API and application integration
  • Event-driven workloads
  • Modernization planning
AWS Migration

Discover, Plan, Migrate and Track Workloads

An AWS migration can be a straightforward lift-and-shift, a database migration, or a broader modernization project.

1. DiscoverInventory servers, applications, databases, dependencies, storage and utilization.
2. AssessDefine target AWS services, regions, networking, availability, estimated cost and migration priority.
3. MigrateMove servers, applications, databases and data using the migration approach that fits each workload.
4. OptimizeReview architecture, instance sizing, managed-service options, resilience, security and ongoing cost.
AWS Migration Hub: AWS Migration Hub provides a central place to discover existing servers, plan migrations and track application-migration status. AWS Application Migration Service is used for supported lift-and-shift server migrations.

AWS Well-Architected Framework

Review AWS Workloads Across Six Architecture Pillars

AWS organizes Well-Architected guidance around operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization and sustainability.

Operational Excellence
Operate, monitor and continuously improve workloads and supporting processes.
Security
Protect data, systems and assets through appropriate identity, network and workload controls.
Reliability
Design workloads to perform correctly and recover from infrastructure or service disruption.
Performance Efficiency
Select and use compute, storage and other resources efficiently as demand changes.
Cost Optimization
Align architecture and resource consumption with business value and actual usage.
Sustainability
Reduce unnecessary resource consumption and consider efficient architecture choices.
Managed AWS Services

Operate AWS After Deployment

Production cloud infrastructure needs ongoing operational ownership after migration or initial deployment.

Provisioning & Configuration

Deploy AWS resources and configure the environment according to the agreed architecture.

Monitoring & Operations

Monitor infrastructure and review availability, utilization, health and operational issues.

Security Configuration

Support access, network, operating-system and infrastructure security within the managed-service scope.

EC2 & OS Management

Operating-system administration, patching and troubleshooting can be included for supported EC2 workloads.

Backup & Recovery Integration

Define workload backup and recovery requirements separately from general infrastructure availability.

Cost & Capacity Review

Review instance sizing, storage and architecture as usage changes to reduce unnecessary capacity.

Hybrid & Multi-Cloud

Connect AWS to Existing and Multi-Cloud Environments

Amazon VPC can connect AWS resources with existing networks using supported VPN and dedicated-connectivity options. This makes AWS suitable for hybrid architectures where not every workload moves to the same platform.

Systron's Hybrid & Multi-Cloud service will focus on workload placement, connectivity, governance, backup, operational consistency and avoiding unnecessary complexity across providers.

The dedicated Hybrid & Multi-Cloud page will connect AWS with Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Systron infrastructure.
AWS Cost Planning

Estimate EC2 and Supporting Infrastructure Before Deployment

AWS cost varies by region, instance family, operating system, runtime, storage, network transfer, pricing model and the supporting services used by the workload.

Systron AWS EC2 Calculator — Planned

We will add an AWS calculator under Systron Tools using AWS public pricing data for selected EC2, EBS and related infrastructure scenarios.

Results will be labelled as estimates. Final AWS billing can vary with region, usage, pricing commitments, data transfer, public IPv4 addresses, support, taxes, discounts and other services.

Planned Calculator Inputs

  • AWS Region
  • EC2 instance family / type
  • Linux or Windows
  • EBS type and capacity
  • Estimated monthly runtime
  • Selected pricing model

AWS FAQ

Common AWS Questions

What is Amazon EC2?

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) provides on-demand, scalable compute capacity in AWS. EC2 instances are virtual servers with different combinations of compute, memory, network and storage resources.

Can Systron migrate an existing VPS or dedicated server to AWS?

Yes. The migration method depends on the source environment, operating system, application, database, storage, network dependencies and acceptable downtime. Supported lift-and-shift migrations can use AWS migration tooling.

What is Amazon RDS?

Amazon RDS is a managed relational database service that simplifies setup, operation and scaling while AWS handles many common database infrastructure tasks such as provisioning, patching and backups.

What is Amazon S3?

Amazon S3 is an object-storage service that stores data as objects inside buckets. It is commonly used for application assets, data storage, archives and other object-storage workloads.

What is Amazon EKS?

Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) is AWS's managed Kubernetes service, allowing organizations to run Kubernetes workloads without operating the Kubernetes control plane themselves.

Can AWS connect to our office or data centre?

Yes. Amazon VPC supports hybrid connectivity options, including Site-to-Site VPN, and can be integrated with dedicated connectivity where appropriate.

Can Systron manage AWS after migration?

Yes. Depending on the managed-service scope, Systron can assist with provisioning, monitoring, EC2 administration, operating-system patching, security configuration, backup integration, incident support and capacity review.

Does AWS remove the need for backup?

No. Availability and backup are separate architecture concerns. Backup, retention, recovery and disaster-recovery requirements should be defined according to the workload's business requirements.
